In a fresh interview with Osi Suave over the weekend singer Skales real name Raoul John Njeng-Njeng has opened up on his long-running rift with Wizkid, saying he’s tried multiple times to make peace.
He traced it back to a Twitter/X Q&A saying “I was doing question and answering (Q&A) on Twitter when someone asked me about Wizkid and I said ‘Wizkid no get my time again’ and before I knew it that tweet was going viral. I think Wizkid didn’t like me.”
According to Skales, that viral tweet triggered a heated exchange where Wizkid allegedly insulted his parents and accused him of wearing fake jewelry.
Skales claims it wasn’t even him replying that time: “When he was insulting my mom and dad and saying I wore fake jewelry on Twitter, it was my ex-girlfriend who used my account to reply him. I’ve tried to make peace with him.”
He also gave another example of the distance – Wizkid was supposed to feature in his ‘Mukulu’ video but told him at the last minute he had a flat tyre and couldn’t make it.
Skales said he’s reached out several times to settle things, but Wizkid has been adamant. Both Skales and Wizkid were signed under Banky W’s EME together in the early 2010s with Banky himself, and have had on-and-off tension since 2015.
No response yet from Wizkid’s camp to this latest interview.
