Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has rejected Eniola Badmus’ public apology, calling it “fake” amid their ongoing feud.
The controversy started after a clip from Eniola Badmus’ recent interview on Isbae U’s Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast went viral.
When the host named Laide Bakare as one of his favourite actresses, Badmus was seen hissing and changing her facial expression, which many fans interpreted as dismissive.
Bakare reacted furiously on Instagram on Monday, October 19:
“Nuisance ni lady yi sha! Must you always damage my character publicly? Several times I have warned you to stop, but since you have decided to bring me down at all costs, you will surely hear from me”
She also accused Badmus of ingratitude, saying she had helped grow her career:
“See your facial expressions at the mention of your biggest benefactor’s name? Omo ale. Thathave helped you to grow in life. Honestly, you are indeed an ingrate, and I won’t let this slide”

The apology and rejection:
On Tuesday, October 20, Badmus apologized:
“On reflection, I realise my reaction when Laide Bakare’s name was mentioned during my recent interview could have come across as dismissive, and for that, I sincerely apologise. Laide, whatever our differences, I choose peace and I genuinely wish you well. We’re all growing, learning and becoming better versions of ourselves.”
Hours later, Bakare dismissed it in a two-word Instagram post:
“Fake apology”
Laide Bakare’s rejection leaves their long-running feud unresolved. Their public disagreements date back to 2023/2024, including Badmus’ criticism of Bakare’s outfit at her book launch, and escalated into a heated public argument at the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s Owambe Thieves in April 2025.
