The Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, has received a prestigious special recognition award as a friend of the press from Inside-Out Limited, operators of Trend 100.9FM. This esteemed honour acknowledges Sir Ahon’s outstanding dedication to promoting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. agenda, highlighting his exceptional support for the state’s development initiatives.
The award was presented to Sir Ahon during the 10th-anniversary celebration of Trend 100.9FM, held in a colourful ceremony in Asaba on Sunday. The event recognized Sir Ahon’s tireless efforts in showcasing key government projects, including investments in human capital and infrastructural development, which have been instrumental in shaping public perception and fostering a positive image of the Oborevwori administration.
Represented by an Assistant Director of Information in the Directorate of Government House and Protocol, Mr. Ivovi Aruoriwo, the CPS expressed gratitude for the recognition and congratulated Trend 100.9 FM on its decade-long commitment to impactful programming and balanced reporting, making it a listeners’ delight.
Sir Ahon dedicated the award to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, expressing profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the administration. He also acknowledged the Government House press corps, recognizing their collaborative efforts as a key factor in his success, and accepted the honour with humility.
Other notable awardees included Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Ms Orode Uduaghan, Oshimili South Local Government Council Chairman, Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili, Director General, Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, and veteran broadcaster and Executive Assistant to Governor Oborevwori on Sports Development, Mr. Harrison Ocholor, among others.
