History was made as Afrobeats giant Burna Boy headlined the halftime show at the NFL’s first ever regular-season game in France on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Paris.
The game was Pittsburgh Steelers vs New Orleans Saints – Steelers won 16-10 in a Week 7 clash.
French singer Yseult joined Burna Boy on stage, giving theyou show a Franco-Nigerian crossover
Burna Boy opened with ‘4 Kampe II’ his 2025 collab with Joe Dwet File that mixes Afrobeats, kompa and dancehall in the English, French and Haitian Creole, then performed hits like ‘Ye’, ‘On The Low’, and ‘Last Last’.
It was a return to a special venue for him. In April 2025, Burna Boy became the first African artiste to headline a solo concert at Stade de France, selling out 80,000 tickets.
In an interview with NFL host Colleen Wolfe shared on NFL France’s Instagram ahead of the show, he said:
“That’s what music is. That’s why I’m not so creative; I’m just like a reporter with melodies and stuff. It doesn’t matter where you’re from. That’s why sometimes I don’t even speak English in my music. I sing to see beyond your physical form; it’s your spirit I sing to.”
The NFL said the booking was part of its push to expand internationally – mixing American football with local/global music. It comes just weeks after fellow Artiste Ayra Starr became the first African female to headline an NFL halftime show.
Burna Boy is no stranger to big sports stages – he performed at the 2023 NBA All-Star Game, the 2023 UEFA Champions League final kick-off show, and earlier this year, alongside Latina Artiste Shakira at the first ever FIFA World Cup halftime show.
