Controversial Music Artiste Portable Omolalomi has publicly questioned activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) over the reported ₦200 million+ donation from Burna Boy for a school project.
In a viral video, Portable demanded accountability:
“Burna Boy give you money, wetin you use am do? NGO money, where the money dey?”
Portable accused VDM of mismanaging the funds:
“You are fighting for your pocket. Burna Boy give you N200 million plus, make you build school, you go build Ashewo house”.
Portable criticized the murals painted on the school walls, questioning why footballer Adebayo featured instead of Burna Boy, whom he identified as the donor. He also questioned why VeryDarkMan painted his own portrait in the artwork, arguing it was inappropriate since someone else allegedly provided the money.
The project is in Odiokwu, Ahoada West LGA, Rivers State. According to reports, Burna Boy agreed to fund it after VeryDarkMan drew attention to the community school’s condition, with Fego Works Limited handling construction and VDM supervising.
VeryDarkMan has reportedly released financial documents showing ₦240 million paid to Fego Works for construction and ₦50 million spent on murals featuring Burna Boy, community members, and project moments. The facility covers over 3.4 hectares and includes classrooms, an administrative building, a community library, modern restrooms, solar-powered lights, ceiling fans, a football field, and a clinic.
