Former Kaduna state Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has been granted bail and his case adjourned to another hearing once again.
This development was confirmed by Imran Wakili, political commentator who announced “Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has been granted bail by the Federal High Court,” on his X.
ICPC arraigned El-Rufai on a 10-count charge including alleged conversion/possession of public property and money laundering. Allegations include N579.7 million in “inflated severance pays” and $817,900 in “suspicious deposits”.
He’d been in ICPC custody since Feb 18, 2026 over a month before the temporary release. He’s also facing separate charges at a Kaduna State High Court with Amadu Sule for abuse of office, fraud.
Arraigned before Justice Rilwan M. Aikawa on March 24, 2026. He was temporarily released for mother Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who died in Egypt’,s burial on March 27, 2026.
But today Tuesday April 14, 2026, once again he has been granted bail and his hearing adjourned.
