EPL: Ten Hag feels ‘let down’ by three Man Utd players after sack

Erik ten Hag feels let down by the trio Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, and Antony after he was sacked by Manchester United, according to the UK Mirror.

The Dutchman was fired on Monday morning, following a 2-1 defeat at West Ham.

It left the Red Devils sitting in 14th place with a -3 goal difference.

While Ten Hag was given support by new minority shareholders Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, the squad were simply sub-par throughout his tenure.

It is believed that Rashford, Casemiro and Antony are three players in particular who let down their manager and were partially responsible for his sack.

Rashford has only scored once this season in the Premier League and failed to register a shot in his first three league games. His previous campaign saw him record seven league goals and three assists.

Casemiro’s display against Liverpool, in which he was all but responsible for two of their rivals’ goals in the 3-0 drubbing, was poor, and Manuel Ugarte was brought in to replace him at halftime.

Antony, too, a player who starred under Ten Hag at Ajax, was brought in and shown faith by the Dutch boss via his £86m transfer fee, but has also never really hit the ground running and stained Ten Hag’s transfer record.

In the eyes of many, the nearly £600m spent on building the 54-year-old’s ideal squad has been wasted.
