Odumodublvck warns upcoming artists against relocating to Lagos

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has advised aspiring musicians to reconsider moving to Lagos in pursuit of their careers, describing the city as the “worst place for a young artist to grow.”

The Abuja-raised artiste shared his views on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that the competitive nature of Lagos’ music scene breeds “greedy, selfish, and self-centered packaged beasts.” He credited his own rise to fame to his upbringing in Abuja, which he said offered him the space to grow without the cutthroat environment he associates with Lagos.

“That’s why it was easy to run through the industry as the machine wey I be. I too real for una,” Odumodublvck wrote, suggesting that staying away from the Lagos music bubble helped him remain authentic.
