Haaland needs just one goal to break Ronaldo’s record

Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland needs just one goal to break Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid scoring goal record.

Haaland scored a brace against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday, taking his tally to nine goals so far this season.

His brace against Brentford took his goal tally to 99 goals in 103 games since joining Man City in the summer of 2022.

If Haaland scores in his next game for Pep Guardiola’s side, he will beat the record for the fastest century of goals for any team.

The current holder of that record is Ronaldo, who reached 100 Real Madrid goals in just 105 matches during his time at Santiago Bernabeu.

Haaland has the opportunity to beat Ronaldo’s record when Man City take on Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Should he fail to score against the Serie A champions, the 24-year-old can still equal Ronaldo’s record when Man City host Arsenal in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
