Afrobeats heavyweight Davido is scheduled to headline Carnival Calabar 2026 on December 29, 2026.
Davido announced this himself on X on Thursday October 14:
“Calabar Carnival and Festival. We have a date: 29th December, 2026. Main bowl U.J. Esuene Stadium. See you there”
According to the official schedule, the grand parade and band competition holds on December 28, while December 29 is set for the bikers carnival and insomnia night at the stadium, where Davido will perform.
The Chairman of the Cross River State Carnival Commission, Gabe Onah, also confirmed Davido had signed up during the first dry run on Sunday, saying he will “mesmerise” revellers alongside several local and international participants.
The festival, established in 2004 as Africa’s biggest street party, is expected to draw between 10,000 and 52,000 revellers this year.
