Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has recently bemoan about not only Artists now being celebrities in the Nigerian entertainment industry nowadays but also tiktokers, influencers and skitmakers.
The “Zanku” crooner expresssed his dissatisfaction that making music is no longer considered the job of professional Artists but also tiktokers, influencers, skit makers, and even content creators as they can now also sing a song and it will “blow up”.
He noted that this has affected the quality of music. Speaking in a recent episode of the Afrobeats podcast hosted by Shopsydoo, Zlatan said: “It used to be that artists were the celebrities, but now TikTokers, influencers, and content creators are celebrities. That is why you can see an influencer or skit maker drop a song and it blows up”.
