David Mark led faction party African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled the party factional chairman Nafiu Bala, Member representing Yagba federal constituency Kogi state house of representatives, Leke Abejide, Kingsley Temitope, Noman Obinna, Kennedy Odion, Stella Chukwuma, and four others.
This set of people were expelled from the party for causing confusion and bringing instability into the party. Senator Binos Yaroe senator for Adamawa South Senatorial District moved the motion for them to be expelled and Abdussamad Dasuki, Kebbi/Tambuwal federal constituency representative seconded the motion.
ADC is currently split into three distinct groups all fighting for sole control of the party structure ahead of next year’s elections. David Mark, Nafiu Bala, and Dumebi Kachikwu are all claiming to be authentic leader of the party. The expelled Bala and Abejide are under Bala faction.
Mr. Abejide appears to be dissatisfied with David Mark’s leadership and recently challenged the leadership in court, trying to refrain both David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as Party Chairman and Secretary respectively.
ADC has written in a statement after their expulsion that they are opportuned to retrace their steps and be welcomed back to the party or risk leaving the party permanently.
