ENTERTAINMENT: PETE EDOCHIE DISMISS DEATH RUMOURS THREATENS LEGAL ACTIONS AGAINST PEDDLERS OF FALSE RUMOURS ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

Legendary Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has denied rumors of his death and is considering legal action against those spreading false reports. His management team, Afrolens Media, confirmed he’s alive and well, calling the claims “malicious and irresponsible”.
“We wish to categorically state that the news circulating on some blogs and social media platforms claiming that veteran Nollywood actor Chief Pete Edochie is no longer with us is completely false, malicious, and deeply irresponsible. Chief Pete Edochie is alive, well, and actively going about his daily engagements. These baseless reports have caused unnecessary panic and emotional distress to him, his family, colleagues, fans, and the Nigerian entertainment industry at large. We strongly warn bloggers, content creators, and media platforms to immediately desist from publishing unverified information, especially on sensitive matters relating to life and health. The spread of fake news is unethical, harmful, and going forward, we may consider taking legal actions. We urge the public to rely solely on his official Instagram account @peteedochie as the only credible and authorized source of information or statements concerning Chief Pete Edochie”. The Statement reads.

Pete Edochie himself expressed frustration, saying he’s been “killed” seven times, with hoaxes spreading false claims about his death.

The rumors allegedly started from a social media post claiming he was rushed to the hospital and died, with some even saying his son Uche Edochie confirmed it on Instagram. However, his family and management team have debunked these claims, urging the public to verify information before sharing.

Pete Edochie, 78, is active and celebrated, with awards like Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) and AMVCA Industry Merit Award. He’s set to turn 79 on March 7.
