ENTERTAINMENT: DAVIDO REVEALS WHY HE NO LONGER CLUBS

Nigerian Afrobeats singer and Grammy nominee Davido has recently revealed he’s stepped away from his clubbing lifestyle, citing maturity, family life, and a desire for rest. He used to go to clubs every day, but now prefers quiet time at home, studio sessions, and small gatherings with friends.

In a recent interview on The LongForm Podcast, the Artist who recently lost the Grammy Award for ‘Best African Music Performance” to South African’s Tyla said: “Blowing up at a young age with freedom, power and money, I used to be very reckless. I used to go to the club everyday”.

Davido’s priorities have shifted since marrying his long-term partner, Chioma Adeleke. He now values sleep and family time over nightlife, often FaceTiming his wife when he’s away.
“These days, I don’t even go to the clubs. I was in Nigeria for almost two months and I didn’t go out. I was just at home and I was having fun.

I was just chilling in my studio, and inviting people to make barbecue for me. It was fun. And before you know it, it’s 3 am or 4:30 am. I just go home, call my wife, sleep off on FaceTime,”
However, he still performs and attends parties when work calls.
