ENTERTAINMENT: “MY TWEET NOT DIRECTED AT KUNLE AFOLAYAN” – CUTE ABIOLA DENIES SHADING ACTOR KUNLE AFOLAYAN.

Nigerian skit maker and actor, Cute Abiola has denied shading Kunle Afolayan, a veteran filmmaker, over his comments about Funke Akindele’s box office success.

Abiola tweeted “Avoid anything that will make you become an old taker,” when Actresses Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham celebrated crossing ₦2 Billion and ₦1 Billion gross respectively on Cinemas which some interpreted as a dig at Afolayan, who had criticized the marketing strategies for cinema films, saying he doesn’t want N1 billion or N2 billion in cinema gross if he’ll only receive N10 million as personal income.

Abiola clarified that his tweet was not directed at Afolayan or anyone in the industry, but rather a personal motivation. He described Afolayan as his leader and expressed displeasure at those accusing him of attacking the filmmaker.

“Just to clarify, this tweet was not directed at Kunle Afolayan or anyone in the industry. It was a personal motivation based on something that genuinely inspired me and I decided to share.

To everyone under this comment who picked my tweet as subbing my leader Kunle Afolayan! E NO GO BETTER FOR UNA!!! Like ENKR, odaju ni gbogbo yin oooo Walai ! Eyin nu olohun nu,” Cute Abiola wrote.
