Joy in Kaduna as Eighty worshippers who were abducted by gunmen in Kaduna state’s Kurmin Wali village have returned home after escaping from their captors.meanwhile 86 others are still being held captive. The returnees hid in neighboring villages for two weeks out of fear of being recaptured.
The authorities are working to secure the release of those still being held, amidst criticism from Amnesty International over the government’s handling of the situation.
The villagers were kidnapped on January 18, 2026, during a church service, a report that was initially denied by Police until the full names of the captives were released by the community head.
