Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Blord, has trademarked the name “Ratel” and issued a cease-and-desist notice to social media personality, VeryDarkMan over its use. Blord claims Ratel is now his business brand name and warns that any further use without authorization would violate his intellectual property rights.
“I have directed my SAN to issue a cease and desist to VDM to stop using my brand name ‘Ratel’. He will have to get an approval from me henceforth before using that name Ratel.” Blord wrote on his Instagram story. VeryDarkMan’s supporters are known as “Ratel,” which has intensified the controversy surrounding the trademark claim.

This isn’t the first time Blord and VeryDarkMan have clashed; their feud began in October 2025 after VeryDarkMan accused Blord of business malpractice, including fraud and overpricing modified gadgets purchased from China.
VDM who has recently hinted on taking a break from Social Media has not yet respond to Blord over the trademarking.
