Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has at on Tuesday, December 16, signed into law the N1.729 trillion 2026 budget, dubbed “Budget of Accelerating the MORE Agenda”.
This budget represents a 70% increase from the 2025 budget and is focused on driving infrastructure growth, enhancing security, and strengthening social welfare. 70% of the budget (N1.229 trillion) have been allocated to capital projects, 30% (N500 billion) for recurrent spending and also Statutory allocation (N720 billion), for Internally Generated Revenue (N250 billion), and Value Added Tax (N120 billion) Infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, and agriculture
The budget is expected to accelerate development, improve living standards, and stimulate economic growth in Delta State. Governor Oborevwori commended the State House of Assembly for their timely passage of the budget.
