NEWS: 2 PARENTS OF ABDUCTED STUDENTS IN NIGER STATE SCHOOL CONFIRMED DEAD.

Two parents of the abducted students from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, have died. The news was confirmed on Tuesday November 25 by Most Reverend Bulus Dauwa, Catholic Bishop of Kotangora Diocese in Minna.

Anthony Musa, one of the parents, died of a heart attack after his three children were taken by gunmen. The death of the second parent, a woman, has been confirmed, but details surrounding her death are still unclear.


Over 300 students and 12 teachers were abducted from the school on November 21, 2025, 50 children have managed to escape and since reunited with their families. Search is still ongoing for the remaining 250 students and 12 teachers by the Nigerian Security Personnels.


The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed deep concern over the abduction and the subsequent deaths of the parents. The government has deployed security personnel to search for the abducted students with President Bola Tinubu also cancelling his trip to the G20 summit in South Africa following the abduction
