he Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the top three nominees for the 2025 CAF Player of the Year award. The finalists are Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the 33-year-old Liverpool player who had an outstanding 2024/25 season, winning the Premier League Golden Boot award with 29 goals and helping his team secure a record-equalling 20th Premier League title. He was also vital for Egypt’s world cup qualifications.
Morrocco and Paris Saint-Germaine right back Achraf Hakimi also made the final list, despite being currently injured, he played a pivotal role in Paris Saint-Germain’s historic UEFA Champions League triumph as part of their 2024/25 intercontinental treble and their run to the final of the expanded Club World Cup where they were humbled 3 – 0 by Chelsea. Nigeria and Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen completed the final lists striker has been in scintillating form for both club and country in the year 2025 winning both the Turkish league and cup and claiming the golden boot.
The CAF Awards 2025 ceremony will take place on November 19, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco, where the winner will be announced. Other categories recognized at the awards include:

• Goalkeeper of the Year: Munir Mohamedi (Morocco/RS Berkane), Yassine Bonou (Morocco/Al Hilal), and Ronwen Williams (South Africa/Mamelodi Sundowns)
• Interclub Player of the Year: Fiston Mayele (DR Congo/Pyramids), Mohamed Chibi (Morocco/Pyramids), and Oussama Lamlioui (Morocco/RS Berkane)
• Coach of the Year: Bubista (Cape Verde), Mohamed Ouahbi (Morocco U-20), and Walid Regragui (Morocco)
• Young Player of the Year: Abdellah Ouazane (Morocco/Ajax), Othmane Maamma (Morocco/Watford), and Tylon Smith (South Africa/Queens Park Rangers)
• National Team of the Year: Cape Verde, Morocco, and Morocco U-20
• Club of the Year: Pyramids, RS Berkane, and Mamelodi Sundowns
