NEWS: MIDNIGHT FIRE GUTS SHOPS IN DELTA STATE.

A midnight fire broke out at Haven Estate in Ugboroke Community, Delta State, destroying several furniture workshops and a cafeteria at the entrance gate. The fire occurred opposite NNPC Housing Estate. The cause of the fire is still unknown at the moment of the report.

Fire fighters and residents tried to quench the fire and prevent it from spreading to other nearby buildings despite their efforts the fire still destroyed several shops.


Mr Tunde Musa, one of the victims of the fire who lost valuables in the fire told reporters: “I was told in a phone call that my workshop was burning at midnight By the time I arrived, everything had gone up in flames. The firefighters were already on the ground, but there was nothing left to save, I don’t even know how I feel right now.”

Affected traders who lost valuables to the fire were seen surveying their burnt shops counting their losses and lamenting on Friday morning. Delta state fire service are yet to give a report on the incident.
