NEWS: DELTA, BAYELSA, ANAMBRA ON HIGH ALERT FOR FLOOD – NIHSA.

The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) has raised an alert over possible flooding in several states,This warning is due to high water levels along the Niger and Benue Rivers. States Affected are Kogi, Anambra, Delta, Bayelsa, Niger, Benue and Adamawa.


“At the moment, our hydrological monitoring shows high water levels along parts of the Niger and Benue Rivers, with the possibility of localized flooding in Kogi, Anambra, and Delta States. We advise residents in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant and to follow official advisories.” Arc Umar Muhammed,NIHSA Director – General, disclosed.


Residents in these States have been advised to stay alert and follow official advisories, consider moving to higher grounds or designated flood camps, avoid walking or swimming through floodwaters, and clear drainage systems to ensure free flow of water
