Egypt has officially qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Djibouti 3-0 in their World Cup qualifying match. Ibrahim Adel opened the scoring in the 8th minute while Liverpool Star man Mohammed Salah hits brace to secure the three points.
This victory secured Egypt’s top spot in Group A of the African Qualifiers with 23 points, making it impossible for second-placed Burkina Faso to catch up.
Group Standing:
Egypt – 23 points,
Burkina Faso – 18 points.
This will be Egypt’s fourth World Cup appearance, their last appearance being in 2018 where they crashed out of group stage.
Other Qualified African Teams are 2022 Semi finalists Morocco who qualified after beating Niger 5-0, securing top spot in Group E with 21 points and Tunisia who also qualified after beating Equatorial Guinea 1-0, topping Group H with 22 points
With Egypt’s qualification, the total number of teams qualified for the 2026 World Cup stands at 19.
