Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi has warned Christians against marrying unbelievers, describing it as “self-destruction”. She emphasizes that spirituality is the foundation of marriage and that carnality can never replace it. According to her, marrying someone who doesn’t share the same faith can lead to misery and conflict.
She questions why a believer would choose to partner with someone spiritually impotent or imbecile, likening it to buying a weapon to destroy oneself.
“How can you, as a woman or a man of God, a believer, operating a ministry, consider marrying an unbeliever. Someone is spiritually impotent, spiritually imbecile? You have brought the weapon to destroy yourself, being a believer marrying an unbeliever.” The Actress said.

Anunobi highlights the importance of sharing spiritual matters with a partner, asking rhetorically, “Who will you pray with? Who will you discuss scriptures with?”
She cautions against letting physical attraction or fleeting emotions cloud judgment, emphasizing that spirituality is essential for a successful marriage.
Anunobi warns that marrying an unbeliever can lead to a “Waterloo,” resulting in misery and regret.
“Those kisses, those hugs, those caresses with an unbeliever. There will be a Waterloo. Some of you are already engaging in activities in the other room and are a Waterloo. Some of you are already engaging in activities in the other room, and yet you are in ministry.
“You think being with an unbeliever will make your marriage sweet? You will be most miserable.”
