The Delta State Police Command has successfully arrested 27 suspected armed robbers in a joint operation with the Nigeria Hunters Forest Security at Basket Market along Asaba-Benin Road, Uromi Junction, on September 9, 2025. During the raid, the police recovered.
One Locally fabricated firearm a homemade gun seized from the suspects substantial amounts of illegal substances were also confiscated
The suspects, all adults, were apprehended based on high-powered intelligence reports and are currently in custody as investigations continue.
“Acting on high-powered intelligence report, conducted a raid operation at Basket Market along Asaba–Benin Road, Uromi Junction. During the operation, a total of twenty-seven (27) suspects, all adults, were apprehended. Upon thorough search, one locally fabricated firearm and large quantities of illicit drugs were recovered from the suspects. Investigation is currently in progress.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects hibernate in the hideout, where they practice executing their criminal plans.” Bright Edafe Delta State Police PRO said.
The operation highlights the police’s commitment to combating crime in the region.
