ENTERTAINMENT: “FOOTBALL BET NO BE WORK” – NAIRA MARLEY WARNS YOUTH.

Naira Marley, a Nigerian singer and Marlians record label boss, recently took to social media to warn young people about the dangers of excessive sports betting.

He emphasized that betting isn’t a sustainable source of income, cautioning youths against relying on it as a means of livelihood. In a tweet, he wrote, “Football bet no be work bro.

Please stop before they finish you.” He further encouraged young people to have confidence in their abilities, stating, “You are far too smart to be the only thing standing in your way”.

This warning comes amid growing concerns about sports betting’s impact on Nigerian youths.

According to a report, Nigeria tops the list of sports betting nations in Africa, with approximately 168.7 million active bettors, and 70% of the population aged 30 and under engaged in betting activities.
