SPORTS: WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS: HAALAND HIT 5 AS NORWAY BLOW AWAY MOLDOVA.

Erling Haaland made his mark against Moldova, scoring 5 goals in Norway’s 11-1 win in a 2026 World Cup qualifier. This impressive performance not only showcased his exceptional skill but also significantly strengthened his position as the top scorer in the qualifiers.

The Manchester city striker scored Norway’s second, third, fourth, sixth, and tenth goals, completing his fifth international hat-trick and extending his tally to 48 goals in 45 caps.


The match took place at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, with Norway dominating the game from start to finish. Moldova’s only goal was an own goal by Norwegian defender Leo Østigård. Substitute Thelo Aasgaard scored four goals after coming on in the 64th minute, while Felix Horn Myhre and Martin Odegaard also found the net.


This win puts Norway six points clear at the top of Group I, with five points ahead of second-place Italy, while Moldova remains at the bottom with no points.


Interestingly, Haaland played through stitches on his face from a bus door accident at the team hotel, showing his dedication and resilience.
