Nigerian Musician Kcee in a recent episode of the Echo Room Podcast revealed that award snubs by Award Organizers brought him down to the point of almost shedding tears.
The Artist who hailed from Eastern Nigeria said it took time and support from his fans for him to recover from such trauma. He said that in time he realized that he needs to enjoy the support he was getting from his fans and stop trying to be noticed by Award Organizers.
“Initially, the music industry wasn’t giving me recognition. The fans were the ones supporting me. I wasn’t being nominated for awards. I cried. I was pained but eventually, I grew a thick skin not to worry about awards. Right now, whether I win or they don’t nominate me, I don’t care.” he said.
Kcee broke out in 2014 with the hit “Limpopo” he has also collaborated with big Artists namely Wizkid for the jam “Pull Over” in 2015. In 2023 his song “Ojapiano” trended in the music industry somehow reviving his career.
