NEWS: DAVID MARK SEEKS INEC REVERSAL OF ADC DE LISTING IN COURT.

National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark has approached the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking a reversal of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to de-recognize his leadership.

Mark’s faction had been recognized by INEC after a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on July 29, 2025, where he was appointed chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as national secretary.

However, INEC withdrew recognition from Mark’s leadership on April 1, 2026, citing a Court of Appeal ruling. Mark’s lawyer argues that INEC’s actions contradict its own affidavit, which acknowledged the Mark-led leadership as the legitimate ADC leadership.

The Court of Appeal had dismissed Mark’s appeal, ordering parties to maintain the status quo ante bellum. The Federal High Court is now set to hear the case, with Mark seeking an order to restore his leadership’s recognition.
