ENTERTAINMENT: “IGBO PEOPLE ARE SO CREATIVE” – TINIE TEMPAH PRAISES IGBO NATION.

British rapper Tinie Tempah has praised the Igbo people of South Eastern Nigeria saying they’re “intrinsically creative”.

Tinie Tempah, whose real name is Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu, in a video he shared on his YouTube on Monday February 9, reveals he has Igbo roots and praised the Igbo people for being creative in Arts notably Music and Literature.

He listed major Igbos that had gained international recognitions and received international awards for their exceptional artistry, ‘Things Fall Apart’ author Chinua Achebe and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie to name a few.


The Artiste says he believes his Igbo ancestry greatly influenced his musical talent and impacted it
“I am from the Igbo tribe and I do believe that there’s something very intrinsically creative about Igbo people. Growing up, I started to understand that a lot of Black authors from Nigeria, specifically the Igbo tribe, who have won the Bookerman Prize.

That’s a global book award. The likes of Chinua Achebe, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, who was on Beyoncé’s album as well, have won that award So, I think my talent and creativity has something to do with my heritage and lineage and origin. And that’s beautiful”. He claims.

Tinie Tempah was born in London in 1988 and he began his musical career in 2006 creating his own record label “Disturbing London” he is known for hit singles “Pass Out” and “Written in the Stars” both in 2010.
