Nollywood actor, Stanley Ontop, has raised concerns about an alleged plan to re-arrest Actress Angela Okorie, immediately after her release from Suleja Prison.
Angela Okorie was granted bail on Friday, but her release was delayed due to verification issues with her surety’s residential address.
Stanley Ontop claims that police officers are stationed at the prison gates with a fresh petition against Angela, waiting to re-arrest her upon release. He’s questioned the Nigeria Police Force’s professionalism, asking why an invitation wasn’t extended instead of an arrest.
“Angela Okorie will be out in few minutes, there was a delay in the verification of her surety’s residential address yesterday. But the court has signed for her release now! We got an info that there’s a fresh petition against Angela Okorie and that some police men are stationed in front of Suleja Prison to apprehend her again immediately she’s released from the prison.
May Nigeria never happen to you. @nigeriapoliceforce na like this una take dey work? What happened to invitation? Why are you people arresting citizens you are meant to protect? Make nothing shaa happen to Angela Okorie on her release day.” Stanley Ontop said speaking on his Instagram.
Angela was arrested and remanded in prison a week ago for allegedly defaming fellow actress Mercy Johnson.
