SPORTS: SUPER EAGLES MOVE TO 26 IN FIFA RANKINGS AFTER DOMINANT AFCON OUTING.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have risen to 26th in the new FIFA world rankings, their highest position in 16 years, and are now ranked 3rd in Africa. This impressive jump comes after their strong performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, where they secured a third-place finish. Nigeria won six of their seven matches, with their only defeat coming against hosts Morocco in a tense semi-final penalty shootout.

The Eagles’ rise in rankings is a major boost for Nigerian football, highlighting the team’s growth and improvement on the international stage. They are now behind only AFCON winners Senegal (12th globally) and Morocco (8th globally) in the African rankings.
