Afrobeats star Asake made a dramatic return to Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, landing on campus in a helicopter. The award-winning singer, who studied Performing Arts at OAU, was welcomed by VC Prof. Simeon Bamire and other officials, including Dr Oluwatoyin Ogundeji from his old department.
At the OAU Amphitheatre, Asake treated fans to an unforgettable show drumming, traditional Yoruba prostration, and loud cheers from students. Mum and Yhemolee joined him for the nostalgic trip.
OAU’s creative cred just got a boost,they’ve produced big names like Asake and Fireboy DML.
