Financial commentator and influencer Geh Geh has taken a pointed jab at Afrobeats superstar Wizkid, criticizing him for failing to support comedian and streamer Carter Efe despite the massive success of the fan-made hit song Machala. In a viral video following Carter Efe’s record-breaking Twitch livestream featuring Davido, Geh Geh emphasized the importance of established artists uplifting emerging talents.
Geh Geh reiterated that Machala remains one of the most impactful fan-made songs in Afrobeats history, created as a tribute to Wizkid. He expressed disappointment that, despite the song’s popularity, Wizkid didn’t publicly acknowledge or support Carter Efe. “When someone refuses to help despite having the capacity to do so, another person will ultimately step in to fill that role,” he said, suggesting Davido’s recent support for Carter Efe highlights Wizkid’s missed opportunity to shine a light on the young talent behind Machala.
