Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, had sparked controversy at the Ooni of Ife’s 10th coronation anniversary celebration when she threatened to switch off Governor Ademola Adeleke’s microphone while he was singing during his speech.

The governor, known for his musical performances, had begun singing, prompting Oluremi Tinubu to intervene, saying, in the Yoruba language “I give you five minutes to conclude your speech. Enough with the music, or I’ll switch off the microphone”
The incident, captured on video, has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some defending Tinubu’s insistence on decorum, while others criticized her public reprimand of the governor.
Governor Adeleke who recently left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) due to internal crisis, has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incidence
