NEWS: GOVERNOR ADEMOLA ADELEKE OF OSUN RESIGNS FROM PDP.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The resignation letter announced on November 4, 2025, reads: “Due to the current crisis of the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my Membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect.

I thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator (Represented Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party.” Adeleke’s resignation now leaves the Osun PDP without a definite governorship candidate for the forthcoming 2026 election. He had been a member of the PDP since 2017,

His nephew, music star Davido, acknowledged the news with a short post reading, “Jeje,” sparking conversations across social media.

Adeleke’s resignation comes amid shifting political landscape in Nigeria, with several high-profile politicians defecting from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Osun State Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, stated that Adeleke will announce his new political party before December 13.
