Gunmen had once again attacked a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ejiba, Kogi State, abducting the pastor, his wife, and several worshippers during a Sunday service. The attack has sparked widespread concern and condemnation, with the Kogi State government launching a manhunt for the perpetrators.
The incident occurred at the newly established church, where worshippers were gathered for morning service. The gunmen, reportedly armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the church, firing sporadically and causing panic among the congregants.
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the abducted victims, with a police helicopter deployed to aid the search operation. The state government has also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
This attack is part of a recent surge in kidnappings and attacks on churches and schools in Nigeria abducting and also killing people.
