SPORTS: EPL: AMORIM, MBEUMO BAGS PREMIER LEAGUE COACH AND PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARDS FOR OCTOBER.

Manchester United gaffer Ruben Amorim has been named the Barclays Manager of the Month for October 2025, winning the award for the first time since taking over Manchester United in late November 2024. He guided Manchester United to three consecutive league wins, including a historic 2-1 victory at Liverpool, their first at Anfield in nearly a decade.

Manchester United began the month of October well by beating newly promoted side Sunderland 2 – 0 at home on October 4, and then on Sunday October 19 after the international break they won Liverpool 2 – 1 at Anfield courtesy of a Harry Maguire late goal.

The club then cap off the month by beating Brighton 4 – 2 in a dominant fashion at Old Trafford on October 25, moving to 4th on the Premier League with 16 points. Amorim becomes the sixth Portuguese head coach to receive this honor, following notable managers like Nuno Espirito Santo and Jose Mourinho.

Winger Bryan Mbeumo was also named Premier League Player of the Month for October 2025, a well-deserved recognition for his outstanding performances for Manchester United. The Cameroonian forward scored three goals and provided one assist in three league matches, helping United secure three consecutive wins for the first time since February 2024.

Mbeumo’s impressive form in the month of October earned him the award ahead of Erling Haaland, Matty Cash, and Bruno Guimarães who were also nominated. His pace, precision, and direct attacking style have made him a constant threat to opponents, and his seamless integration into Ruben Amorim’s team has been instrumental in United’s resurgence.

The last time a coach and a player would be named Premier League coach and Player of the month at the same time in the club was in November 2023 when Eric Ten Hag was named the Premier League Coach of the month, Harry Maguire for the Premier League Player of the month and Alejandro Garnacho for the Premier League goal of the month.

Argentina and Aston Villa midfielder, Emi Buendia won the Premier goal of the month for his splendid strike against Tottenham Hotspurs on Sunday October 19, in Aston Villa’s 2 – 1 win.

Burnley goalkeeper Martin Dubravka also clinched the save of the month for his stoppage time save against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, October 26 that secured Burnley’s 3 – 2 away win.
