The FCT Police Command has clarified the circumstances surrounding the arrest of Samuel Ojeogwu, also known as Sammy West, who is Regina Daniels’ brother. According to SP Josephine Adeh, the police spokesperson, Sammy West was arrested and taken to court following a petition filed on October 28, 2025, alleging various crimes including criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
Adeh stated that despite being invited by the police on multiple occasions, Sammy West failed to appear for questioning, prompting his arrest in Lagos under a valid court warrant. He was then taken to Abuja for investigation and subsequently charged to court on November 6, 2025. The police confirmed that he is currently in prison custody until he meets the conditions for his bail.
The arrest has sparked controversy, with Regina Daniels accusing her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, and his team of orchestrating her brother’s detention. She expressed frustration over the prolonged detention, saying her parents had traveled to Abuja to intervene. Regina has also accused Ned Nwoko of manipulation and emotional abuse, claims he has denied. In response, Nwoko’s team has denied Regina’s allegations, attributing their marital issues to her personal struggles.
The FCT Police Command has emphasized that due process was followed in Sammy West’s arrest and that the case will proceed in court as investigations continue.
