ENTERTAINMENT; NIGERIAN SUPERSTARS SHINE: DAVIDO, WIZKID, BURNA BOY, AYRA STARR, AND OMAH LAY SECURE 2026 GRAMMY NOMINATIONS

Nigeria’s music scene is on fire, and the country’s afrobeat stars are stealing the spotlight at the 2026 Grammy Awards! The nominations are out, and Nigerian heavyweights Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Omah Lay are all making waves on the international stage.

The Best African Music Performance category is looking particularly strong, with Davido and Omah Lay nominated for their collaboration on “With You” – marking Omah Lay’s first-ever Grammy nomination! Other notable entries in the category include Burna Boy’s “Love”, Ayra Starr and Wizkid’s “Gimme Dat”, Eddy Kenzo & Mehran Matin’s “Hope & Love”, and Tyla’s “PUSH 2 START”.

Burna Boy, who’s already taken home a Grammy, is also up for Best Global Music Album with “No Sign of Weakness”. He’s going up against stiff competition from international artists, but fans are feeling optimistic about his chances.
