The Premier League week saw a lot of entertaining clashes. Arsenal extended their lead at the top after winning Burnley 2 – 0 with first half goals from Victor Gyokeres and Declan Rice.
The Gunners are now 8 points clear. Manchester United had to fight hard for a point at City ground as Amad Diallo scored a superb goal late on to savage a 2 – 2 draw against Nottingham Forest. Wolverhampton Wanderers continue their bad run as they lost away to Fulham 3 – 0. Brighton and Hove Albion crushed Leeds United 3 – 0 at home, goals from Danny Welbeck in the first half and Diego Gomez with a second half brace, Crystal Palace secured a 2 – 0 victory against Brentford. Elsewhere Chelsea came on top of the London derby against Tottenham Hotspurs with the Blues securing a 1 – 0 win, Joao Pedro finally scoring after firing blank in 8 games.
The Blues have now defeated Spurs 6 times in 7 games in their new stadium since it’s opening in 2019, the Blues only losing there 2 – 0 in 2023. Mohammed Salah scored his 250th goal for Liverpool as they won Aston Villa 2 – 0 at Anfield to go back to winning ways and return to second place on the table.

In Spain’s La Liga, League leaders Real Madrid extends their lead on the table to 7 points as they crush Valencia 4 – 0. Kylian Mbappe continues his impressive run in front of goals scoring a brace in the first half, Jude Bellingham making it 3 before the break. Left back Alvaro Carreras scored his first Real Madrid goal, a brilliant strike from the left angle to end the scoring.
Atletico Madrid won Sevilla 3 – 0, Julian Alvarez, Thiago Almada and Antoine Griezmann finding the net.
It was a dramatic Basque Derby as Jon Gorrotxategi scored late to secure a 3 – 2 victory for Real Sociedad against Athletic Club.
