NEWS: DELTA STATE POLICE ARRESTS 62 YEAR OLD WOMAN WITH SACK CONTAINING 178 LIVE CARTRIDGES.

A 62-year-old woman, identified as Charter Timide, has been arrested in Delta State by operatives of the Delta State Police Command with a sack containing 178 live cartridges.

The arrest was made along the Bomadi-Tuomo Road during a joint stop and search operation with Bomadi Vigilante. The arrest was carried out on Thursday October 30 at around 12:30 PM in the afternoon.

“On 30th October 2025 at about 12:30 hrs, operatives of the Bomadi Division, under the command of DPO, CSP Adie Peter Bissong, while on a joint stop-and-search operation with the Bomadi Vigilante, intercepted a motorcycle along the Bomadi–Tuomo Road.

The cyclist, who appeared uneasy, was conveying a 62-year-old woman, later identified as Charter Timide, to Tuomo Community. Upon a thorough search, officers discovered a concealed sack containing 178 live cartridges neatly packed for delivery.

When interrogated, the suspect admitted purchasing the cartridges from Onitsha Main Market, a hub long known for its bustling trade.” Bright Edafe, Delta Police Public Relations Officer said in a statement.

Charter Timide has now been transferred to the State Command Headquarters at Okpanam road, Asaba, and further investigations will be carried out inorder to trace other black market suppliers of Ammunitions.
