Versatile Nigerian artist and song writer adekunle kosoko,popular known by his fans as adekunle Gold,as unveil that he experiences sickle illness despite still been on treatment.
The singer also also narrated that he has been living with this condition ever since he was a little boy of five,that ever since he been enduring each night of endless pain that often left hid stranded.
The singer also recall back on one of the sickle cell illness that happened to him,when his mother carried him on barefoot from their home to the hospital,which the singer said that the thought of that still on his memory.
According to the ” many many many people ” crooner he said those times thought him to be grateful.
He said “still have crises once in a while but not as bad as when I was a child,” he said, adding that he is thankful for the resources that now help him manage the illness.
The singer also shared that looking beyond the fact that his an artist and all of that,he told Nigerians to always and should never neglect genotype texting or show no interest of it it,as he also advises couples that before getting into marriage with your partners make sure genotype testing should be done.
He said that sadly in Nigeria there is not too much loud awareness about genotype testing,even though Nigeria seem to record high cases of sickle cells patients.
He said that his insight is to advocate or make more noise about this terrible diseases,he calls all health workers to advocate the spread for genotype testing..
