The English Football League cup action continued on Wednesday October 29 as the big clubs get to play their fixtures.
Arsenal won fellow Premier League side Brighton 2-0 with goals from Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka both coming in the second half.

Arne Slot Liverpool’s nightmare continues as Crystal Palace won their youthful side 3-0 at Anfield, Senegalese Ismaila Sarr bagging a brace and Spaniard Yeremy Pino scoring late on in the 88th minute. Ismaila Sarr has now scored 7 goals against the Reds in 9 appearances.

Last season’s winners Newcastle United continues the title defence as they won Tottenham Hotspurs 2-0, Fabian Schar and Nick Woltemade both scoring a header in the 24th and 50th minutes of the game respectively.
Eight times winners Manchester City came from a goal down to beat Championship side Swansea city 3-1. goals from Jeremy Doku, Omar Marmoush and Rayan Cherki late on sealing the victory.

It was a dramatic night at the Molineux as Wolverhampton Wanderer nearly forced a draw against Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea after conceding 3 goals before half time. Andrey Santos and Tyrique George both scored from Jamie Gittens assists early in the first half and 18-year old Brazilian Estevao Willian making it 3 with a lovely chip over Jose Sa. Chelsea would go on to concede 3 goals in the second half but were thankful for Jamie Gittens scoring to make sure they qualify for the next round. Liam Delap who just returned from injury only lasted 25 minutes in the game the English striker getting sent off after elbowing Emmanuel Agbadou.

Quarter final draw was conducted immediately after the games and the draw will see Manchester city take on Brentford, Arsenal take on Crystal Palace, Cardiff City the only team not from the Premier League at this stage (EFL League One) take on Chelsea and holders Newcastle United take on Fulham. The ties will be played in the second week of December.
