NEWS: NNAMDI KANU TO STAND TRIAL ALONE AS LEGAL TEAM WITHDRAWS.

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has decided to defend himself in court after his legal team, led by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Kanu Agabi, withdrew from his treason and terrorism trial. Kanu confirmed the development in court, stating that he would represent himself for now, although he might consider engaging a lawyer later.

The court proceedings saw Kanu challenging the jurisdiction of the court to try him, a submission that was overruled by Justice James Omotosho. Agabi stated that Nnamdi Kanu had taken the case back from his legal team, and they respect his decision.

Kanu plans to call 23 witnesses, including prominent figures such as: Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State governor, Hope Uzodinma, Imo state governor, Ministers Nyesom Wike and Dave Umahi, Gen. Tukur Buratai (former Chief of Army Staff) and Gen.

Theophilus Danjuma (former Minister of Defence) amongst others.
The court has adjourned the case until October 24 for Kanu to open his defence.
