Nigerian singer, Fola, recently opened up about the struggles of fame in an interview. He shared that his life changed dramatically after his song “Alone” gained popularity.
Fola mentioned that he used to be unknown on campus, but now he can’t even go to school without being recognized. This newfound fame has brought its own set of challenges, making it difficult for him to move around freely.
“2022, I can’t forget. I put all my money on a music project but I didn’t blow. Before, if I go to the campus, people didn’t even recognise my presence. But just one year down the line, I can’t even enter school anymore because of fame,” he said.
Fola’s rise to fame began when he was signed to Bella Shmurda’s record label,
Dangbana Republik, in 2024. Since then, he has collaborated with notable artists like Wizkid in “One Condition” along with DJ Tunez and also Kizz Daniel in “Lost”. His recent album “Carthasis” which contains 11 tracks was released September 5, 2025.
