D’Angelo, the legendary R&B singer and neo-soul pioneer, passed away today, October 14, 2025, at the age of 51, after a private battle with cancer. His family confirmed his death in a statement.

D’Angelo was known for his masterful works, including his debut album “Brown Sugar” and his critically acclaimed album “Voodoo”, which debuted at number one on Billboard’s 200 albums chart and won Best R&B Album at the 2001 Grammy Awards. He leaves behind a legacy of extraordinarily moving music that will continue to inspire generations of artists.
Some of his notable works include Albums Brown Sugar in1995, Voodoo in 2000 which won Best R&B Album at the 2001 Grammy Awards and Black Messiah in 2014 which Won Best R&B Album at the 2016 Grammy Awards
D’Angelo had also had Collaborations such as “Nothing Even Matters” with Lauryn Hill and “I Want You Forever” with Jay-Z for the movie “The Book of Clarence”
D’Angelo’s family and friends, including notable figures like DJ Premier and Nile Rodgers, have paid tribute to his legacy, mourning his passing while celebrating his contributions to music.
