Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Adekunle Gold, emphasizes that being a good father and husband is more important to him than his music career.
The “Sade” hitmaker made this known in a recent interview on NotJustOk podcast. He stated:
“All I wanted to be is to do more for my own daughter because I can’t afford to bring her to the kind of life that I grow up living. It has to be way better.
And that’s why I’m working hard. My family is my centre. I don’t joke with my family. I can afford to be a failed musician, not a failed father or a man. That’s not negotiable for me,”
This shows his commitment to prioritizing his family and providing a better life for his daughter, Adejare. Adekunle Gold’s wife, Simi, is also his partner in music and life, and together they have created several hit songs. His recent statements reflect a broader theme of responsibility and family values in his music and public life.
Adekunle Gold’s song “My Love Is The Same” reflects his dedication to his family and his desire to give his daughter a better life than he had growing up. He believes that love should be shown through consistent care and responsibility, not just words.
