The Nigerian Navy’s Forward Operating Base (FOB) Escravos has deactivated six illegal refining sites in Delta State, specifically in the Obodo Omadino community of Warri South-West Local Government Area. Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, Commander Officer of FOB Escravos made this known in Warri on Sunday September 28. Approximately 11,550 litres of stolen crude oil were recovered from the sites, stored in 52 dugout pits and seven polythene sacks. One pumping machine and about 22 yards of hose were seized during the operation.
The operations were conducted between September 3 and September 24, 2025, following credible intelligence.
The Nigerian Navy’s goal is to combat economic sabotage, boost daily crude oil output, and safeguard national economic interests under Operation Delta Sanity II.
The Commanding Officer of FOB Escravos, Navy Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, emphasized the navy’s commitment to disrupting economic saboteurs and protecting Nigeria’s oil assets. This operation aligns with the strategic directives of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla.
