NEWS: NADESSTU COMMENDS GOVERNOR SHERIFF FOR COMMITMENT TO STUDENTS WELFARE.

The National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU) has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his commitment to students’ welfare in Delta State In a courtesy visit paid by the association to the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board in Asaba on Thursday September 25.

NADESSTU led by Comrade Oweiotu – Ebi Oyinkare – Obi Joseph who is the National President, and other members including Vice President Comrade Nnabuife Jennifer, Director of Socials Comrade Kimora Odafetite Faith and Director of Sports Comrade Victor Chukwuneku Obijenu described Governor Oborevwori as a “student-friendly leader” whose policies have elevated Delta State’s profile as a hub of academic excellence.


The association praised the governor for approving ₦713 million for the payment of bursaries to students of Delta State origin, which will alleviate financial burdens and encourage academic excellence.
NADESSTU also appreciated the governor for donating two buses to the association and the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), which will facilitate their activities and events.

The association commended the governor’s commitment to education through the MORE Agenda, which focuses on Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security.


Governor Oborevwori has received several awards and recognitions for his commitment to education and good governance, including the Vanguard Newspaper’s Governor of the Year 2024 award.

NADESSTU’s appreciation for Governor Oborevwori’s efforts highlights his administration’s dedication to improving the lives of students and the broader community in Delta State.
